School Day

The Bay Area Renaissance Festival School Day, Festival Friday, TBA, 2021!

Travel back in time with your student(s) and experience the history of the Renaissance era. Learn about the culture of the 16th century and enjoy live armored jousting while in attendance. Or you can tickle your fancy by learning to juggle or courtly dances of the time period.

Reserve your tickets and “Seize the Day” with fun and educational experiences! Merchants will demonstrate a variety of crafts such as glass blowing, print making, candle making, face painting, musical instruments, pottery, sculpture and more! There are many educational events including: lessons on costume, dance, music, weapons, and chivalry. Artisans in period dress illustrate the technological advances of the Renaissance age through live demonstrations and other arts and trades of this amazing period.

Festival Friday is School Day

Jousting knights, musicians, jesters, and magicians perform on stages throughout the village. Students will have the opportunity to learn courtly dances, the ancient art of falconry, and the history of arms and armor. Artisans in period dress illustrate the technological advances of the Renaissance age through live demonstrations in pottery, glass blowing, blacksmithing, armor making, and other arts and trades of this amazing period.

School Day FAQ

What is School Day?

Students step back in time as they enter the sights and sounds of an authentic recreation of a 16th century Village. Students will interact with hundreds of costumed characters representing the politics, culture, art, science and literature of the Renaissance Period. School Day is a place where history comes alive to allow students to learn in a whole new way!

What is the location and time of school day?

School day is held Festival Friday, March 19th, 2020 from 10am - 6pm. Rain or Shine! Located on the festival grounds, 11315 N. 46th., St., Tampa, FL 33617.

What are the prices?

Every 10 students receive a Free Chaperone Ticket!
  • Child (Grade 1 - 6): $10.50 per student
  • Student (Grade 7 - 12): $15.95 per student
  • School Chaperone: $15.95 per chaperone
  • Food Books: ($6 Value): $5.00 per book
  • Children 4 and under are Free!

What are the options for food/lunch?

Food books may be purchased within your package and can be used at any food vendor located within the festival grounds, except for Pirate's Galley Restaurant. You may also bring a packed lunch and leave it on the bus. You will be allowed to leave the festival if you would like to eat your lunch at your bus as long as you receive a re-entrance stamp on your hand.

How much money should a student bring?

Students may bring any amount of money they choose to for spending. All vendors/artisans have various prices for items sold.

What if it rains?

We are open rain or shine. It is in your best interest to monitor the weather and advise your students to dress accordingly due to weather. We will not refund ticket purchases due to inclement weather.
